Managing Inbound Referrals
Working through inbound referrals via Dina is quick and easy! In the Inbox, select the “Action Required Received” folder to view all open incoming referrals. Completed referrals are in the “Completed Received” folder. Select any Inbox item to view details and take additional action:
Upon opening an inbox item, click “Evaluate” to let your referral partner know that you have received the referral and you are reviewing it:
While reviewing the referral, you may add notes, and attach any necessary documents to initiate real-time two-way communication with your referral partner:
If you can accept the patient on service, click "Accept" within the referral. This will send a notification to the sender letting them know you can accept the referral.
At this point, the referral sender will have the option to select your organization as the patient’s choice by choosing the “Select Provider” button on the referral (only they will see this!):
The referral status will update to “Provider Selected”. If another provider for this patient is selected instead, you will be notified that your organization was not chosen as the selected provider:
Once confirming that your organization is the selected provider, the last step is to confirm if the patient was “Admitted” or “Not Admitted” into service.
If the patient does not initiate services, select “Not Admitted” and indicate the reason for non-admission from the dropdown provided. This moves the referral to the “Completed Received” folder in the Inbox, where it can be accessed in the future at any time:
If the patient does initiate services, select “Admitted” and indicate the start of care date along with any additional details. This also moves the referral to the “Completed Received” folder in the Inbox, where it can be accessed in the future at any time:
